1923 Dodge Touring

1923 was a year that enjoyed the bliss of the classic Roaring 20s days. World War I had come to an end several years prior, and the United States was enjoying its recovery from such a devastating war. Flappers and zoot suits were in no short supply, and the economy was still years away from its dramatic downturn that would come with the stock market crash in October 1929. Owners of a 1923 Dodge Touring car enjoy the blast from the past as part of those “good ol’ days.” Though certainly this is not among the most valuable cars in American motor history, it represents a unique time in our history.

The 1923 Dodge Touring had a four-cylinder engine which produced just 25 horsepower. The Dodge brothers, who had so passionately grown their company into one of the most popular auto companies in the U.S. by 1920, both passed away that year. It goes without saying that they did not get to enjoy this model. A canopy top provided shelter from the ever-changing elements, but a hardtop was far from the minds of the model’s producers. Its tires, with many thin spokes, measured 32×4″, which would be unheard of, of course, on today’s production lines. Though extensive information about the 1923 Dodge Touring car may not seem readily available, for their owners, this car holds a special place in history.

Individual stories about this model are in no short supply, and often, this car becomes part of the favorite family stories that have been passed down for generations.
