Back To The Bricks Car Show

If you are a car enthusiast, you know that you have a lot of choices when it comes to picking classic car cruises or muscle car events.  Sometimes it is hard to choose which event you might want to visit on any given weekend.  Well, what if you were told that there was a car show that boasted that it is the biggest and fastest growing car show in the Midwest, it will have over 35,000 cars on display, and will have events that your whole family can enjoy?  Would you choose that one?  I bet you would choose it if you were also told it was FREE!

The Back To The Bricks car show in downtown Flint, Michigan is exactly that!  Last year, over 350,000 people came to see the over 35,000 cars on display downtown.  This year, the event will be held from August 16th-20th and is expected to bring even more cars than last year.  With no fee to enter your car in the show and no fee to view the cars, this is one of the best shows that anyone could ask for!

This year, the schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, August 16th:  US23 Drive-In on Fenton Road will be showing Back To The Future for free to all Back To The Bricks participants.  All show cars will be given space up front and family cars will fill in behind them.  Come early to get your spot!

Wednesday, August 17th and Thursday, August 18th:  There will be a Rolling Cruise from downtown Flint to Grand Blanc’s Saginaw Street.  You can join this cruise anywhere on the 13 mile trek.  There are selected spots on the way that will hold Mega Site events, as well.

Friday, August 19th:  The Kickoff Party will take place downtown on this day and will include a car show, free concert, other music, food and automotive displays.

Saturday, August 20th:  This is the BIG EVENT!  It will include the car show, music, displays, exhibits, the Women’s marketplace, food and the Corvette Reunion.

Some of the highlights of this year’s Back To The Bricks, besides the cars of course, are the Corvette Reunion, the Women’s Marketplace and the visit from legendary drag racer, Don “Big Daddy” Garlits.  The 2nd Annual Corvette Reunion will be held downtown on Saturday, August 20th. Over 300 Corvettes came “home” last year and over 800 are expected this year. There is no entry fee for this reunion, but it is a qualifying event for the invitational Motor City Corvette Concours, held in September in Dearborn, Michigan.  Winners from this reunion will be invited to the Motor City Invitational for their chance to have their name put on the prestigious Zora Arkus-Duntov trophy.  The Woman’s Marketplace will also be held on Saturday, August 20th, under the tent on Harrison Street.  You can find purses, jewelry, makeup, clothes and much more! Come check it out!  As for Don “Big Daddy” Garlits, he will be in attendance at all of the Back to The Bricks venues.  He will be bringing his famous “Swamp Rat” and will be available for free autographs, photos and he’ll be selling dragster memorabilia.

So, if you are going to be in the Michigan area during August and are looking for something for the whole family to enjoy that is FREE, don’t miss out on the Back To The Bricks!  For more information, see
