1965 Dodge CoronetThe Dodge Coronet is car model that started as a high-end car in the early 1950s, but dropped to the low-end car in the late 1950s. Eventually the car became a hot rod and then turned into a mid-size sedan and station wagon in the 1970s. It is true that the car is not as memorable as the Chevy Belair, Ford Mustang, or Mercedes Gullwing, but it did appear in many popular television shows.

I Love Lucy: A 1951 Dodge Coronet appeared in a significant role in the sixth season of the show. When Lucy and Ethel travel south to meet their husbands in Florida, they hitch a ride with a woman who drives a Coronet, but they believe is an actual ax murderer. As usual, hilarious antics ensue.

1966 Dodge CoronetGomer Pyle, USMC: Pyle buys a 1958 Dodge Coronet from a friend, but eventually the car meets with a sad demise as it bursts into flames later in the episode. It was not uncommon to see Dodge Coronet police cars on the show.

Mod Squad: The fashionable group rode around town in a 1970 Coronet, but they were also frequently found a convertible version that was specially modified to be extra-stylish for the show. The police cars on the show were usually designed from Dodge Coronets, too.
