The Best Car Shows in the US
There are car shows and then there are Car Shows. When you spend big bucks finding your favorite classic car and weeks working on restoration projects, you want to show your pride and joy to the people who will appreciate it the most.
Whether you drive a lowrider Chevy Fleetline or a hot rod Chevy Chevelle with flames on the side panels, you will certainly be noticed at the annual Dream Cruise in Detroit, Michigan – the home of the automobile. The Woodward Dream Cruise, which takes place annually in August, is one of the premier car events in the world. Over one million visitors line the streets to see over 40,000 classic cars cruise the street just like in the good ol’ days.
Show cars are the babies of their owners. These are the vehicles that have been hunted down, scrimped and saved for, paid for, and then labored over to fix, repair, restore, and customize. If you have been through the process of restoring a classic car, then you know how satisfying it can be to finally show it off. The best show cars are the ones that have been so lovingly and carefully restored. No matter how long it takes to do it, a car that has been restored and treated with love by its owner is a gem that all car lovers can appreciate.
For any true car lover, a car show is the best way to spend a Saturday, an evening, a day off from work, or really any free time at all. Whether you like the oldest antiques, American muscle cars, one particular model, or you love all kinds of classic cars, car shows are a great way to enjoy these historic automotive gems.
Car Show: It’s time to mark your calendar! For those of you who like to plan ahead, flip to the end of February. One of the largest car shows and auto auctions in the United States will occur from February 24-26. As you can imagine, that is quite a limited amount of time to see everything, so don’t put it off! The self-proclaimed largest classic car show and auction on the East Coast,
the Atlantic City Classic Car Show
and Auction will take place as always at the Atlantic City Convention Center in-you guessed it- Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Reno: So now the holidays are all over and we settle in for the cold winter months. We suggest that you take advantage of the opportunity to travel in your mind’s eye during this time of year and keep yourself occupied with positive thinking. And what can be more positive than thinking about what you’re going to do when the weather changes and the car show season gets underway?
Here’s the idea: First, you do your research and identify the car shows and cruises that you are interested in. You make decisions and circle your calendar, and this process is a lot of fun.
How much fun would it be to have a German ambiance, flowing German beer, entertainment and your favorite collector cars on display? This fun is a reality at the Frankenmuth Auto Festival held in Frankenmuth, Michigan from September 9-11th. This festival, hosted by Country Street Machines, features activities that will entertain the entire family. From the car show, to the famous downtown shopping, to the two Championship par-72 golf courses (The Fortress and Timbers Golf Club), to the excellent restaurant and pubs, everyone will be happy!
Here is the schedule of events for the weekend:
If you are a car enthusiast, you know that you have a lot of choices when it comes to picking classic car cruises or muscle car events. Sometimes it is hard to choose which event you might want to visit on any given weekend. Well, what if you were told that there was a car show that boasted that it is the biggest and fastest growing car show in the Midwest, it will have over 35,000 cars on display, and will have events that your whole family can enjoy? Would you choose that one? I bet you would choose it if you were also told it was FREE!
As a classic car fan, isn’t it a deflating feeling to read about some killer event that you would love to go to, only to find out that the reason why you are reading about it is because it already happened? If you want to be in on the good stuff you have to plan ahead, and 2011 is just around the corner so the time to start planning your road trips for next year is now. With that in mind we would like to direct your attention to the 2011 Atlantic City Classic Car Show & Auction.
