While Subaru now owns the market on cars for the outdoorsy crowd, AMC was the car maker that created this market. The Subaru Outback, Forester, and other models are favorites with drivers in places like Colorado. Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the all-wheel drive AMC Concord with faux wood paneling was the car for those who drove in the mountains.
