From 1978 to 2000, Toyota produced its successful Tercel as a subcompact model. For five generations the Toyota Tercel fit between the Corolla and the Starlet in the carmaker’s lineup. The Tercel was the first front-wheel drive car made by Toyota, and it set the standard for many cars to come after it. Buyers could get the popular Tercel as a two-door coupe, a sedan, a three-door hatchback, a five-door hatchback, and as a station wagon. It may have been out by 2000, but the Tercel is still a popular used car. You can track one down by turning to the ads at FossilCars.
