I am still in possesion of an old '40 Hudson truck emblem that used to belong to my grandfather. I wouldn't sell it for anything in the world, but I do sometimes wonder if it has any monetary value.

It may have, given the fact it's a collection piece and quite a rare one. It's also really old, the value might rise up with every passing year.

Wow, that's really old. How cool. I'm sure it has value, it could be a lifesaver if you ever run into problems, but let's hope you won't.

Wow, I'd hang on to such a piece of history. Some things are not for sale, if you'd ask me. Sentimental value or not, it's a pity to just sell everything.

I see this thread is old, but did you ever have the emblem checked out or appraised? It would be crazy cool to have an idea of what it is worth these days. There might be a specialist appraiser or someone at your local classic car club that could help you with that.
