Although I am a fan of vintage cars, I haven't restored one myself yet. I know it will require a bit of research first. I was wondering where should I start looking for the old car books, first of all.

EBay! That is where you can find all kinds of books. You will most likely also find all the parts you need, there, too. You might want to look at the cars, too. You never know what you might find.

You can also ask at your local parts store, like Auto Zone or NAPA, and see which makes and models they have books available for. If they don't have what you need in the store, they may be able to order it for you. Bookstores are an option as well, since they can custom order books they don't have in stock. Then again, you could just Google for it.

Well, it's already been stated, so I guess I'll just "second the notion" that Fogey beat me to, which is Ebay. Amazon also has a wide selection of, well, everything, lol, so if you can't find it on Ebay, I'd look there next.
