Not on a classic but my regular car, I think I bent the hook that keeps the hood down this morning. For some reason I thought I was closing the truck hood and slammed the darn thing down, now its bent. Has anyone adjusted one of these before?

I haven't, but that would be annoying! It's supposed to move itself out of the way when the hood comes down, but I guess the force made it so it didn't? I hope you can get it fixed!

I actually did that once and it landed so hard that it broke part of the brake light in a crappy car I drove eons ago. Lesson learned now but the only issue is sometimes when I drive something that needs a little extra slam I forget and light it instead.

You can also use a metalworking hammer or dolly to hammer out the bend.

I can only imagine that it is probably a common problem. Just think about how often we slam the hood down! If you can't bend it back yourself, you might just need to buy a new hook.
