2012 Deuce Week Coming Up
The winter months are a little bit slow for people who are into classic car cruises because of the fact that in most parts of the country the weather is uncooperative.
This is the time of year when you sit back and do your research to find the classic car cruises that you are interested in participating in once the weather starts to warm up. This alone can keep you going as you circle your calendar here and there and have some exciting events to look forward to in the coming months.
If You’re Going To Cruise, You Need A Cruiser!
Going to Cruise? There is a saying that goes something to the effect of “If I have to explain it to you, you wouldn’t understand,” and this certainly comes into play when you are talking about classic cars and collector car cruises. Classic car fans are indeed a special breed and it takes one to know one.
The thing that brings us all together is our love of old cars that carry so much American history. Going on a car cruise is like a trip down memory lane as we bring the past into the present.
Rod And Relics Rod Run
There are few things more enjoyable than taking your collector car out on a cruise on a beautiful summer day. But when you get to do this with a whole lot of other like-minded folks who love collector cars as much as you do you are talking about the memories of a lifetime.
The summer of 2012 is going to offer a lot of good opportunities for people who are into collector car cruises and now is the time to start to identify where you will be headed when you go out cruising during the warmer months.
Route 66 Classic Car Cruise
They say that it’s not the destination but the journey that really matters, and classic car fans certainly know what this is all about. Even if you’re taking a slow ride to nowhere you can have a fantastic time when you’re behind the wheel of a true American classic cruising down one of our historic highways.
And when you talk about historic highways in the United States, the first one that is going to come to mind is probably going to be Route 66. This iconic stretch of roadway was one of the first of its kind in the United States, becoming operational all the way back in 1926 during the adolescence of the automobile in America.
Vettes At The Beach Car Show
Those who are heavily into collector cars have their own particular favorites, and there are without a doubt countless different models that can really get under your skin. But when you figure it all out it is hard to top the classic Chevrolet Corvette.
The powerful brainchild of the legendary Harley Earl made its debut for the 1953 model year and though General Motors had high hopes for the vehicle no one could have imagined just how important it would become over the years.
Northern California Cruisin’
There’s nothing like getting out on the open road in your favorite classic car. As much as we like to talk about them, find them, fix them, and pamper them, in the end driving them is what it is all about for a lot of us. This is what makes collector car cruises so much fun.
When you identify the perfect car show or cruise and mark that date on your calendar you feel a sense of anticipation as the weeks pass and the event gets closer and closer. So the experience is actually providing you with fun on three different levels.
The Woodward Dream Cruise
There are some things that you can debate, like whether or not the Beatles were better than the Rolling Stones or whether Chicago style pizza beats New York style. The one thing you cannot question is the fact that Detroit, Michigan was ground zero during the classic era of American cars.
There was a time when life revolved around your ride, especially when you were young and it represented your home away from home. This era has been documented quite well in movies and on television, with people cruising up and down certain streets, visiting drive-in restaurants and taking in drive-in movies. Gas was cheap, things were simple, and life was grand.
There was once a time when it was difficult to find information about anything that was not happening right in your local area, and sometimes things that were happening close to you could sometimes slip past you if you didn’t happen to be in the right place at the right time.
However, these days we live in the information age and you can find out about just about anything quickly and easily with the simple click of a mouse as you sit in front of your computer.
An Introduction – Car Cruises
Welcome to our first post! We were inspired to create a blog all about classic car cruises not only because of our enthusiasm for great classic cars and their history, but also because of the sheer number of car cruises that occur across America each year.
Car cruises often bring out some of the best things in American culture-a sense of community, the camaraderie of a common interest, and memories that transcend generations. It’s almost hard to believe that only a few generations ago, the thought of a car cruise was inconceivable, as cars themselves were only just beginning to be produced.
