There is no better way to indulge your passion for all things automotive than to take in a car show, and the late spring and summer months are the best time to do it. There’s nothing like hanging out with a few thousand of your best friends for the day, walking around a sea of jaw dropping classics and hot rods and feeling like the proverbial kid in the candy store.
Seeing a spectacular array of motor vehicles all in one place at the same time is clearly the primary draw, but it is also a lot of fun to mingle with other folks who love cars as much as you do. You meet people and often times make genuine new friends, and you can also network for the purposes of buying or selling your own cars, parts, and services.
When you go to a good car show you’re going to see numerous exhibits, enjoy live entertainment, food, drinks, and of course the stars of the show, the cars themselves. Planning your vacation around a car show that is taking place in an area that you would like to visit is a great way to get the most out of your time off, and many of us do just that.
One huge event that is coming up in a couple of weeks is Dana Mecum’s Spring Classic Auction. It is taking place right in the middle of the country in Indianapolis, so the location is reasonably accessible to a whole lot of people, and if you can make it you won’t be disappointed. The dates are May 19th through the 23rd, and the site is the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The event is actually going to be televised on HD Theater, and tickets are going for $15-$20.
The auction itself will take place in the Toyota Blue Ribbon Pavilion, but there will be cars shown throughout the grounds and in several other indoor locations. There are going to be over 1,700 classic and muscle cars on display, so if you can possibly make it the Mecum Spring Classic is not to be missed.
