For anyone who knows the thrill of wind blowing through your hair and watching the miles roll by while feeling the rumble of a powerful vintage motorcycle, July is sure to be an exciting month. Across the country, riders and collectors alike are gearing up for events dedicated to the bikes of old and those that are considerably newer. Lexington, Ohio will be doing just that from July 20-22, as the American Motorcyclist Association and AMA Hall of Fame welcomes motorcycles of all shapes and sizes to town. At the event, carefully restored and original vintage motorcycles will hold the spotlight.
Four different bike shows will proudly show off the most noteworthy of the motorcycles. All four (the Hall of Fame Ride ‘Em, Don’t Hide ‘Em Bike Show; Scooter Bike Show; Hall of Fame Static Bike Show; and Cafe Racer Bike Show) will occur within the first two days of the three-day event. The first two listed here will be here on Friday, July 20, while the last two will be held on July 21. Details about each show as well as the judging criteria can be found on the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days website. Anyone wishing to learn more about vintage motorcycles will be excited to know that seminars by motorcycling experts will be be available. Other forms of entertainment at the event include races and a swap meet.
The AMA began in 1924 and has since worked hard to protect the rights of motorcyclists across the country. It supports the memories and history of vintage motorcycles, and preserves both with its Hall of Fame.
