When most people think of the fastest cars, they usually look to European sports cars. The Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Porsche sports cars have continually impressed car enthusiasts who look for as much speed as possible. American fast-car enthusiasts are not limited to the automakers in Italy, Germany, and the UK, because there are several extremely fast cars that are manufactured in the United States. AMC EncoreThe United States welcomes foreign cars. On a daily drive, it is common to see cars made in Japan, Germany, Mexico, South Korea, Great Britain, Sweden, Italy, and a few other companies. In the mid-20th century, it was common to see cars made in France, but those carmakers have not sold their wares in the US for several years. The French are known for their sophisticated taste and style, but in the mid-20th century, the cars that were delivered to the US were anything but stylish and sophisticated. These are a few of the stinkers that were once sold in the US, but were not popular choices:

The Datsun Revival

The Datsun is a car model which existed years before it gained popularity here in the United States. Originating in 1931 under the DAT Motorcar Co., this nameplate was spelled differently and was largely popular in Japan. It wasn’t until after World War II that the car made its debut in the States. Although it would become known as an economy car , yet a classy one, the logo for the Datsun was based on the Japanese flag, which features a red circle in the middle of a white flag.
