The 1948 to 1950 Aston Martin DB1 was retrospectively named for the new owner at the time, David Brown. At the time of its production it was just known as the Aston Martin 2-liter Sports car. The DB1 debuted at the London Motor Show in 1948 and was based on a prototype called the Atom. To test the new car, Aston Martin raced a prototype version at Spa in 1948 and won handily. Despite the racing success, selling the DB1 proved difficult, and only 15 ever sold. To track down one of these very rare classics, search through the ads here at FossilCars.
