Ferrari used the GTO designation on a few of its models over the years. GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omologato, and refers to certain approval processes for racing. The Ferrari 250, made from 1962 to 1964, the 288 of the 1980s, and the 2010 599, all included GTO models. The GTOs were all impressive cars, built for speed on the track. The 250 GTO is rare, with only 39 units having been built. Any Ferrari GTO model is highly desirable and collectible today, even the modern 599.
