1965 Chevrolet Biscayne Restomod

1965 Chevrolet Biscayne Restomod in Fort Worth Texas

 Vehicle Description
Sleepers are a kind of perverse pleasure, a car whose appearance and performance are inversely related. Take this 1965 Chevrolet Biscayne Restomod for example. Plain, simple, even subdued on the outside... but deadly underneath. Behind that unassuming exterior theres a thumping 502 cubic inch V8 and all the hardware to plant the power, making this the kind of car that crushes egos with / brbr OK, the sleeper look is anything but these days, but theres so much to love about the industrial-strength looks of this vicious Biscayne. Plain old sinister black certainly helps, but underneath theres incredibly straight bodywork that either cost a fortune or came from someplace warm where it was only driven by a little old lady going to church. This sucker is CLEAN! Repainted to a high standard in 2011, its not show quality but its very close, and it totally nails the inconspicuous look that makes sleepers so successful. The two-door sedan, post body style offers the strength thats necessary to stand up to the rigors of street racing with a big block, and there arent many extras tacked onto the body to slow it down. Observant guys might notice the 427 emblems on the front fenders, but its unlikely this car will sit still long enough for anyone to get that close. The chrome bumpers are new, as is the grille and the rest of the brightwork, and it provides plenty of flash to contrast the slick black paint. My goodness, this is a very cool muscle / brbr The red bench seat interior is fully customized and brand new, with a fresh set of two-tone seat covers that are as pretty as they are comfortable. Custom door panels match the seats, the red carpets are plush, the headliner is taut and in great shape, and the dash was painted red to a high standard and accented with custom pinstriping, which means the cab of this Biscayne is fancy fresh with a stylish look that sticks with the no-nonsense attitude of the whole car. Youll have to hold on tight because youll slide across that bench in hard corners, but it also offers unimpeded access to the floor-mounted 5-speed Hurst shifter. The original gauges are all you got from the factory and they only covered speed and fuel level, so a tachometer was mounted to the steering column and a set of auxiliary units were installed below the dash to monitor the engines vitals more accurately. Remarkably, its got R134a A/C installed under the dash, but with all that excess horsepower, the big block doesnt seem to mind, but beyond that, this one is economy class all the way. Heck, theres not even a radio! It does offer a gargantuan trunk which is completely finished with custom panels and plush carpets to match the / brbr The engine is a stout 502 cubic inch V8 crate short block, a blockbuster of a powerplant that makes grown men smile just thinking about it. It only has about 5k miles on it thus far, and believe me, it has years of fun left in it! Augmented with Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum heads, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and a Victor Jr. aluminum intake, it provides plenty of power and will leave just about anything at the red light that tries to test it. Chevy Orange paint on the block, a chrome air cleaner, and orange Chevrolet valve covers add to the performance look, with the A/C and alternator upgrades along for the ride, and the giant aluminum radiator up front keeps the big block nice and cool. Thats a full MSD ignition system, along with a set of long-tube headers that feeds an X-pipe dual exhaust replete with Flowmaster mufflers, so it runs superbly and the cackle from the pipes can scare the neighbors if you want it to. The big motor spins a Tremec TKO-600 5-speed manual thats incredibly fun to drive and shifts smoothly, especially with a Hays clutch and Lakewood bellhousing keeping it under control, and theres a heavy-duty 12-bolt out back with 3.73 positraction gears and Moser axles to try to hook up all that horsepower. 17-inch American Racing wheels add a sporty look and wear fat 225/55/17 front and 275/55/17 rear Toyo radials that provide plenty of / brbr This is one nasty car and we love everything about it. Its not for guys who like to be the center of attention, but if performance without drama is your thing, youre going to love this Biscayne. Call today!br/br/
