 Vehicle Description
The mid-to-late 1970s produced a lot of forgettable cars, many of which were built by the Big 3. But Oldsmobile always found ways to break free from the restrictions and unwanted tutelage of their General Motors bosses, and in turn made some of the most beautiful and interesting cars ever made in America, even during the design dark ages of the mid-to-late 70s. This 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham is proof of Oldsmobiles persistence to make a great car despite outside pressures, featuring a snarky 350 V8, loads of options, and a great design that still works today. br / brbr The unique design lines made these Olds coupes quite popular when new. So, you probably have a story or two that comes to mind the moment you see that 90-degree waterfall grille come into view. But the reason why were especially attracted to this one is because you just dont see them in this kind of well-preserved condition anymore. The factory-correct orange paint and tan vinyl roof are the perfect 70s combo that looks period-correct without being too dated. The finish holds up very well to this day, and even though its not perfect, those minor blemishes can certainly be understood on a 42-year old car. Take some time to look at some of the detail work like the trim on the hood and sides, complete badging (including the taillights), and how the plastic guards between the chrome bumpers and the body still fit that gap perfectly - you simply dont find Oldsmobiles from this era in such great condition anywhere else! br / brbr The worlds of premium and performance seem to mix perfectly on this interior. The factory striped, tan, cloth is both muscle-car aggressive, and also coordinates with the exterior accent color for a very cool total package. The split front bench gives you the choice of seating up to six, or you can fold down the front armrest for individual comfort. These seats match nicely with the headliner, plush orange carpeting, dash, and door panels a?" all of which also show signs of being factory original, and in great condition still. But this is far from a completely plain affair. Theres plenty of wood paneling to add a premium touch and warm up the atmosphere. Its on places such as the door panels and on the dash, and both control panels that flank the original steering wheel. While these intermediates have plenty of room to carry all your family and friends, this is a very driver-oriented interior. The controls for the original AM/FM stereo, heat/defrost, and provisions for air conditioning are all tilted towards the pilot. Plus, the dual pod gauges are always a nice touch and are clear and crisp. Out back the trunk is very spacious, with enough room to accommodate for long distance cruises.br / brbr Open the hood to see a very honest and original engine bay. This is the original 350 cubic-inch V8, and it even still has the GM parts sticker on the factory air cleaner. And because of a lifetime of careful ownership, this coupe retains an attention-worthy level of originality not often seen in vehicles of a similar vintage. But an affordable Olds like this is also the classic you want to drive, thats why youll be happy that it comes equipped with power steering and power front disc brakes for those laid back, two-fingers on the steering wheel trips. The 350 V8 spins the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, and all that powered is capably handled by the 10-bolt rear end out back. Finishing the factory look are steel wheels adorned with bright hubcaps, all wrapped in 225/75/15 whitewall radials. br / brbr Wonderfully preserved and maintained throughout the years, this upscale Cutty has lived a pampered life. So while you might just want this affordable classic for its right blend of sport and luxury, this survivor Olds will also always give you something to talk about. Call now!!br/br/
